GLOSSARY

What is Ad Rank?

DEFINITION

Ad Rank is the score Google uses to order ads in an auction. It combines your bid, the quality of your ad and landing page, minimum quality thresholds, the search context and the expected effect of ad assets.

Google does not publish a single formula. The practical lesson is that relevance and a helpful landing page can lift position without raising bids. Quality Score is a related diagnostic but is not itself an input to the auction.
