The Village Method is an education nonprofit that supports K-12 students, their families and their schools in California, Georgia and Illinois. We onboarded them in May 2025 and manage the website. Monthly clicks went from 181 in June 2025, the first full month after onboarding, to 1,353 in August 2026. August to August, that is 141 to 1,353. Here is every month from June 2025 to August 2026, including a two-week drop in June 2026 and the month Google changed how it counts.

WHERE IT STARTED

Page three, and a quiet summer

Search Console’s record for thevillagemethod.org starts on 20 May 2025, four days after onboarding. In June 2025, the first full month, the site earned 181 clicks from 29,385 impressions at an average position of 22.8. That is page three. That position was measured before Google changed how it counts in September 2025, so we show it as a starting point only and compare positions from October 2025 onward.

  • ProblemRanking too deep to earn a click.181 clicks from 29,385 impressions is a click-through rate of 0.6%. At an average position of 22.8, most of the people shown the site never reached it.
  • ProblemA summer slide.Clicks fell from 181 in June to 167 in July and 141 in August 2025. At onboarding the client told us families focus on programmes from August to October, and school districts choose contracts from January to April.
  • ProblemThe yardstick moved mid-record.In mid-September 2025 Google stopped serving 100 results per page, which changed how impressions and position are counted. Here, weekly impressions held between about 9,300 and 10,400 while average position went from 26.5 in the week of 1 September to 8.1 in the week of 15 September. We treat most of that move as a reporting change, not a result.
  • ProblemNew to SEO.At onboarding the client described themselves as new to the process. An agency had worked on the site before, and Webtec was managing the website.

THE RESULT

June 2025 to August 2026, six numbers

Every figure comes from Google Search Console for thevillagemethod.org. Clicks are compared with June 2025, the first full month after onboarding, and with the same months a year earlier. Impressions and position are compared only from October 2025, after Google’s counting change. Nothing modelled, nothing extrapolated.

The month it turned

Clicks nearly quadrupled in November 2025

Clicks were 243 in October 2025 and 936 in November. The step came in a single week: 77 clicks from 3 to 9 November, then 258 from 10 to 16 November. Average position barely moved, 7.2 to 7.6, while impressions rose from 47,428 to 125,943. The site was being shown for far more searches, not ranking higher for the same ones. Our records do not date individual tasks, so we do not tie the step to one piece of work.

The full arc

Two measures, two charts. Clicks and position sit on different scales, so putting them on one axis would flatter the story.

Clicks per monthFull months only. May 2025 holds 12 days and September 2026 holds 19. Both are in the table below.

SEARCH FOOTPRINT

From 1,041 impressions a day to 3,310

Clicks are the outcome. Reach widened alongside them. This compares the same three months a year apart, June to August 2025 against June to August 2026, so the school calendar is the same on both sides.

A separate unit from reach: clicks recorded inside each 92-day window.

Impressions per day is the 92-day total divided by 92. Summer 2025: 1 June to 31 August 2025. Summer 2026: 1 June to 31 August 2026. Before mid-September 2025, Google counted impressions more freely. Counting is stricter now, so if anything the growth in impressions is understated, and average position is left out of this comparison. Keyword-level counts were not available for this property, so this section measures the footprint in impressions rather than ranking keywords.

THE WORK

What we were asked to build on

Taken from the client’s onboarding questionnaire of 16 May 2025. It sets out what they told us at the start. It is not a dated log of the work, and we do not attribute specific pages or tasks to particular months.

    Onboarding

    • Programmes documented: academic support and enrichment for K-8, ScholarPrep Nation for grades 8 to 12, a collaborative for parents, and training for educators and after-school staff
    • Also on the list: cultural events, mini-assemblies and workshops, and an externship programme for college students
    • Audience set: school districts, school leaders, principals and parents
    • Markets set: California, Georgia and Illinois

    The content brief

    • Voice: friendly and conversational, educational and step by step
    • Benchmark: follow the content practices of leaders in the field
    • Keep it simple: no technical jargon, no outdated practices
    • Timing: families focus on programmes from August to October, mainly college access and readiness. School districts choose contracts from January to April.

THE FULL RECORD

Month by month

Every month of the record, with its real numbers. Clicks peaked at 1,603 in December 2025. Daily figures were unusually low from 8 to 22 June 2026 and recovered from 23 June, and August was the strongest month since January. August is the headline month on this page, not December, because it is the latest full month.

Google stopped serving 100 results per page in mid-September 2025. Impressions and average position before that point are not directly comparable with the months after it. Clicks were not affected in the same way. The measured window is June 2025 to August 2026. May 2025 (12 days) and September 2026 (19 days) are partial months, listed for completeness.
