Headless WordPress
Keep WordPress for editing. Get a faster, custom front end.
Your team already knows WordPress. We keep it as the place content lives and rebuild the website itself in React and Next.js, so you get speed, design freedom and clean SEO without retraining anyone.
- Keep your editor
- Custom Next.js front end
- Keep your content and URLs
- You own the code, hosting on agreed terms
THE ARCHITECTURE
Same WordPress. A very different website.
In a headless setup WordPress stays in the back room. Visitors never touch it. They see a custom site built on your content.
- Editor
- WordPress (content only)
- API
- Next.js front end
- Visitor
WordPress still holds your posts, pages and media. A separate Next.js site fetches them and builds fast, custom pages.
WHY MOVE
What changes when WordPress goes headless.
- 01
Speed you can feel
Pages are built as lean components instead of passing through a theme and a stack of plug-ins.
- 02
No retraining
Editors keep the WordPress screens they already know. Adoption is easy.
- 03
Design without limits
The front end is custom, so design is not constrained by what a theme allows.
- 04
A smaller public surface
The WordPress admin can sit away from the public site, so visitors are not hitting it directly.
- 05
Rankings protected
We keep URLs and content that earn traffic, and redirect anything that has to change.
- 06
A path to the future
If you later want a different CMS, the front end does not have to be rebuilt.
FIT CHECK
Headless WordPress suits some teams, and not others.
Choose it if
- Your team loves WordPress and lots of content lives there
- Speed, design or SEO is being held back by the theme
- You want a custom front end without a content migration
- You can accept two parts to look after
Think twice if
- You rely on many front-end plug-ins (they do not carry over automatically)
- You want the simplest possible setup
- A small site on a good theme already does the job
HOW WE DO IT
A careful move, with your rankings protected.
- 1
Audit what you have
Content, plug-ins, forms, integrations and the pages that bring traffic.
- 2
Plan the replacement
Each plug-in function is rebuilt, replaced or retired, on purpose.
- 3
Build the front end
A custom Next.js site that reads your WordPress content through its API.
- 4
Redirect and test
Every changing URL gets a permanent redirect. Forms and tracking are tested end to end.
- 5
Launch and watch
We monitor Search Console for errors and fix anything that appears.

Questions about headless wordpress.
What is headless WordPress?
It is WordPress used only as a content system. Your posts, pages and media stay in WordPress, but the visible website is built separately in a framework such as Next.js, which fetches content through WordPress’s API. You edit as usual; visitors get a custom, fast site.
Will I lose my rankings?
Not if the move is planned. We keep URLs and content that earn traffic, redirect any URL that changes with a permanent redirect, and watch Search Console after launch. No one can guarantee rankings, but we do not leave them to chance.
What happens to my WordPress plug-ins?
Back-end plug-ins that manage content usually keep working. Front-end plug-ins, such as sliders, forms and SEO tools, do not carry over automatically. We list each one and decide whether to rebuild it, replace it or drop it.
Do I still pay for WordPress hosting?
You still need somewhere to run WordPress, and the new front end needs hosting too. Who holds each account is set in your contract, and we give you real figures in the quote.
Can my team still use the editor they know?
Yes, that is the main reason to choose this route. Editing stays in WordPress. We add previews and structure so edits show up in the new site the way you expect.
Is it better than moving to a different CMS?
It depends on how much content you have and how much your team likes WordPress. If you have years of content and a team that knows the editor, headless WordPress avoids a migration. If you are starting fresh, another CMS may be simpler. We will tell you which.
