WHERE IT STARTED
Visible, but almost never clicked
In June 2025, the first full month in the record, Search Console recorded 71 clicks for quantifyna.com, from 39,077 impressions at an average position of 45.9. Part of that page-five reading came from how Google counted impressions at the time, which changed in September 2025, so wherever it matters we compare like with like.

- ProblemVery few clicks to start from.71 clicks in June 2025, 47 in July and 210 across the first 90 days. Search was sending a trickle.
- ProblemThe top of the footprint was mostly the brand. In the first 90 days, 38 queries reached the top three. The only one of them that earned clicks was the company’s own name, with 31.
- ProblemSome of the traffic was the wrong searcher. Our project notes flag that several existing cost pages draw homeowners pricing a renovation, not the contractors who buy estimating. Volume from the wrong reader does not help.
- ProblemThe yardstick moved mid-record.In mid-September 2025 Google stopped serving 100 results per page. In the week of 1 September, quantifyna.com had 8,115 impressions at position 41.5. In the week of 15 September it had 3,740 at position 23.3, with clicks barely moving, 14 then 9. We treat that as a reporting change, not a result.

The month it turned
Clicks doubled in one month
Search sent 135 clicks in December 2025 and 276 in January 2026. That is where the curve turned. Average position moved from 15.2 to 10.4 over the same two months, both counted after Google’s change. Our project records do not tie a specific change to that month, so we report the shift and claim nothing more.

THE WORK
Intent first. Then the content.
Taken from our project records. They do not date each task, so the work is not lined up against particular months above.
- 01Keyword strategy
Contractor intent, not homeowner intent
- Scope held to the three trades the firm prices: painting, flooring, and drywall and ceiling
- Every keyword tested against one question: would a contractor who wants to bid more search this, or a homeowner?
- Homeowner cost terms deprioritised, such as LVP cost per square foot and cost to paint a room
- Business modifiers preferred: estimating services, takeoff, bid template, outsource, commercial
- Ten B2B keyword clusters mapped for new content, from trade estimating services to getting on GC bid lists
432 → 3,124keywords in the top 3, first 90 days after Google’s change against January to March 2026 - 02Content
A library built around the estimate
- 56 target keywords covered by published content, listed in the project record
- Estimating methods: takeoffs, top-down and bottom-up, parametric, three-point, Monte Carlo
- Trade cost guides, including drywall cost and the labour cost to hang and finish drywall
- Bidding and outsourcing: why contractors lose bids, estimating without enough staff, the ROI of outsourcing
- Trade-specific bidding: how to bid painting, flooring and drywall jobs faster
