GLOSSARY

What is statistical significance?

DEFINITION

Statistical significance means a difference between two results would be unlikely to appear by chance if the change had no effect. A common cut-off is a 5% chance.

A significant result does not mean a large or valuable one. Check the size of the lift, and the sample size behind it, before acting.
