GLOSSARY

What is sales funnel?

DEFINITION

A sales funnel is a model of the steps a buyer takes from first noticing you to paying, with fewer people reaching each later step. It is used to count people at each step and find where they drop out.

Common stage names, such as AIDA or top, middle and bottom of funnel, are practitioner conventions. Google’s messy middle research shows real journeys loop, so use the funnel to measure, not to describe how people think.
