GLOSSARY

What is ICE scoring? (ICE)

DEFINITION

ICE scoring ranks ideas by Impact, Confidence and Ease, each rated from 1 to 10 and multiplied together. It is credited to Sean Ellis, who coined the term growth hacking.

A higher total means the idea is likely to deliver more for less effort. Because it multiplies, one weak score pulls the total down. The inputs are judgements, so use ICE to structure a discussion rather than to settle it.
