GLOSSARY

What is topical authority?

DEFINITION

Topical authority is the depth and breadth of a site’s coverage of a subject, built from a connected set of pages that answer the questions around it. It helps both search engines and AI systems see a site as a reliable source on that topic.

A pillar page, linked cluster pages and supporting guides, all internally linked, is the usual structure.
