GLOSSARY

What is schema markup? (structured data)

DEFINITION

Schema markup is structured data that labels what a page contains, using the shared schema.org vocabulary, so machines read it without guessing. It does not guarantee a rich result or a citation, but it removes ambiguity.

It is usually written as JSON-LD and must match what visitors can see on the page.
