GLOSSARY

What is conversion rate?

DEFINITION

Conversion rate is the share of visits, users or ad clicks that end in a chosen action, calculated as conversions divided by visits times 100. If 30 of 1,000 visitors enquire, the rate is 3%.

The denominator changes the answer, so define it once and keep it. Pair the rate with revenue per visitor or lead value, because a higher rate can still bring in less money.
