GLOSSARY

What is stock keeping unit? (SKU)

DEFINITION

A stock keeping unit (SKU) is your own code for one sellable version of a product, such as a size and colour. It tracks stock and orders.

Google recommends a sku property in product markup. A GTIN, the barcode number, is a separate identifier that helps match products across the web.
