GLOSSARY

What is information architecture? (IA)

DEFINITION

Information architecture is how a site’s pages are grouped, labelled and linked so people can find what they need. It shows up as navigation, categories and the sitemap.

Weak structure cannot be fixed by visual design. It is reviewed during the audit and drawn as a sitemap before wireframes begin.
