Six issues nobody has time to close.
Thin trial activation, a pricing page nobody understands, a blog that brings the wrong readers. Here is what SaaS teams tell us, and how each issue gets closed.
Search traffic keeps falling.
We publish more than ever and Google sends less. Some of our best stories get summarized and nobody clicks.
WEBTEC COMMENTED
A technical and content audit, author signals and evergreen pages that earn the click AI answers leave behind.
AI answers use our reporting and never name us.
We do the work, and an assistant tells the reader what we found without a link.
WEBTEC COMMENTED
Pages built so the original facts are easy to cite, a deliberate crawler policy and a monthly check of how you are named.
Readers come once and never come back.
Lots of visits, a tiny email list. We have no idea who our readers are.
WEBTEC COMMENTED
Sign-up offers matched to each topic, placed where readers finish, and tracked by source.
Subscriptions stall at the paywall.
People hit the meter and leave. The offer page does not explain what they get.
WEBTEC COMMENTED
A clear offer and checkout, honest renewal terms and tests on the meter and the lead-in.
Sponsors want proof we cannot show.
Advertisers ask who our audience is and how sponsored work is labelled, and we send a PDF from three years ago.

YOUR GROWTH MANAGER
Your publication gets a growth manager who speaks publishing.
A growth manager is the person accountable for growing your business online. Yours is briefed on how readers find and pay for media: news and Discover search, AI answers, crawler rules, newsletters, paywalls and renewals. They also know the sponsorship and subscription rules that apply. They are your number one contact, alongside your project manager or specialist.

DON’T
DO
Label sponsored stories “Presented by” or “Promoted”.
Label them “Advertisement” or “Paid advertisement” above the headline.
Rent your domain to a partner’s coupon or “best of” section.
Keep partner content under your editorial control, or keep it off your domain.
Publish AI rewrites of other outlets’ stories at volume.
Publish original reporting, data and explainers worth citing.
Hide the price after the trial or make readers call to cancel.
State renewal terms beside the button and let readers cancel online.
Block or allow every AI crawler by default.
Decide bot by bot, for search and for training, and write down why.
Judge growth on pageviews alone.
Judge it on sign-ups, paying subscribers and renewals.

Questions SaaS teams ask.
What does a growth manager do for a publisher?
Your growth manager owns the plan for growing your business online. Each month they review where readers came from, sign-ups, paying subscribers and renewals. They recommend what to do next and in what order, and bring in our specialists when you choose to buy the work. At the Advisor level they give direction and advice rather than doing the hands-on work.
Can you get our search traffic back?
We cannot promise that, and nobody honest can. Search and AI answers send fewer clicks to publishers than they used to. We fix what is in your control: technical health, author signals, structured data, evergreen pages and the original reporting AI answers cite. Then we help you turn the traffic you do get into sign-ups and subscribers.
Should we block AI crawlers?
It is a business decision, and we help you make it bot by bot. Some crawlers decide whether you appear in AI search answers, others collect content for training. We set out the trade-offs for your publication, you decide, and we make sure the rules in your robots.txt match the decision.
Do you work with newsletters and podcasts, not just websites?
Yes. Newsletter writers and podcasters run businesses that depend on owned audiences, sponsors and paid tiers. We work on the site that supports them, the sign-up and subscribe pages, search for the show or newsletter, sponsor pages and the campaigns that grow the list.
How much does it cost?
It depends on which services fit your publication and stage, so we scope it after the free audit instead of guessing. We will tell you the cost before you commit. For SEO we recommend six months because it takes time to compound, and we report every month so you can see what is happening.
Can you guarantee rankings, Discover traffic or AI citations?
No, and be wary of anyone who does. Google says even eligible pages are not guaranteed to appear in Discover, and AI answers change constantly. We guarantee the work: a documented plan, a growth manager and project manager, monthly reporting and honest advice about what is and is not working.
What do you need from us to start?
Your website address, access to analytics and Search Console, your email platform if you have one, and a short call about your readers, your revenue mix and your sponsors. The audit itself is free.
