SOUND FAMILIAR?

Six open issues in technical firm marketing.

Complex work, careful buyers and long cycles. Here is the log of what firms tell us, with the resolution and who owns it.

  • ISSUE-01HIGH

    Prospects cannot judge your expertise.

Your work is complex and your site is thin. A buyer cannot tell a specialist from a generalist, so they shortlist whoever explains it best.

Capability pages that explain what you do and why it matters, with project depth behind them.

    Website and copywriting
  • ISSUE-02HIGH

Inquiries that are not a fit.

Wrong scope, wrong size, wrong location. Your senior people spend hours on proposals you were never going to win.

Qualifying content and forms that filter before the inquiry reaches you.

    Conversion and web tools
  • ISSUE-03MED

    Long cycles and many decision-makers.

A technical evaluator, procurement and a budget owner each want different proof, and each decides on their own timeline.

Content written for each person in the room.

    Copywriting and website
  • ISSUE-04MED

    Case studies you cannot share.

NDAs, confidential clients and regulated projects keep your best work off the site.

Anonymised project stories, written with permission, that prove your thinking.

    Copywriting
  • ISSUE-05MED

Referrals and RFPs are your only pipeline.

Great for trust and outside your control. When they slow down, nothing replaces them.

Search and AI visibility for the problems you solve, working alongside referrals.

    SEO and AI search
  • ISSUE-06HIGH

    Nobody owns the marketing.

A principal does it between billable hours, so it happens in bursts and never compounds.

A named growth manager and a project manager, accountable for the plan.

    Growth Manager

WHO IS IN THE ROOM

Four people decide. Each needs different proof.

A technical project is rarely chosen by one person. Your site has to answer the evaluator, procurement, the budget owner and the stakeholder, each on their own terms.

  • Technical evaluator

    “Can they actually do this?”

    NEEDS TO SEE

Detailed capability pages, certifications and project depth.

    Website and copywriting
  • Procurement

“Are they a safe, compliant choice?”

    NEEDS TO SEE

Licences, insurance, safety record and a clear process.

    Website
  • Budget owner

“Is this worth it, and what happens first?”

    NEEDS TO SEE

A plain explanation of value and a clear first step.

    Copywriting and conversion
  • Stakeholder

    “Will they listen to us?”

    NEEDS TO SEE

Case stories, team profiles and a human tone.

Questions technical firms ask.

What does a growth manager actually do for an engineering or architecture firm?

Your growth manager owns the plan for growing your firm online. They review your inquiries and proposals each month, recommend what to do next and in what order, meet you monthly and bring in our specialists when you choose to buy the work. At the Advisor level they give direction and advice rather than doing the hands-on work. Many firms start there, and established firms can keep one on its own.

Do we have to buy every service?

No. Start with a growth manager, or with any single service, and add more when it makes sense. We would rather you buy the one thing that fits than a package you do not need. The free audit tells us where to begin.

How much does it cost?

It depends on which services fit your firm, so we scope it after the free audit instead of guessing. We will tell you the cost before you commit. For SEO we recommend six months because it takes time to compound, and we report every month so you can see what is happening.

Can you guarantee projects or rankings?

No, and be wary of anyone who does. Search engines and AI assistants change, and your results also depend on your specialism, your reputation and how quickly you respond to inquiries. We guarantee the work: a documented plan, a growth manager and project manager, monthly reporting and honest advice about what is and is not working.

Do you know the advertising rules for engineers and architects?

We research the rules from the licensing boards in the states you work in, including how titles, credentials and firm names may be used, and build around them. We flag risks before anything goes live. We are not lawyers, so your firm or counsel has final sign-off.

Our work is technical and confidential. How can you write about it?

We start with the problem your buyers have, explain it in plain English and add technical depth one click deeper. For projects under NDA we write anonymised stories with the client’s permission, and we never name a client or share a figure without your approval.

What do you need from us to start?

Your website address, access to analytics and Search Console if you have them, and a short call about your capabilities, sectors and the projects you most want. The audit itself is free.
